Description

Scientists can obtain high structure resolutions by means of cryoelectron microscopy. However, higher resolutions will also lead to very large scale volume data sets, which cannot be transfered over the Internet in a reasonabelle way.
We have developed a tool for Internet-based 3D visualization of cryoelectron microscopic data. Our application allows the inspection of volume data interactively by balancing rendering quality and real time performance. Furthermore, we plan the optional embedding of chemical structures such as proteins into the scene.
Please send us an email for further information.

Acknowledgments

We thank Dr. H. Stark from the IMT (University of Marburg) for the cryoelectron microscopic data of the E. coli ribosome.
